Tuba Bilecik is a lawyer and internationally recognized mediator, facilitator, conflict management consultant. Tuba has extensive experience mediating civil, commercial and employment cases in Istanbul and in Los Angeles for private companies, U.S. Federal and State Agencies (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing) and for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. She advises organizations on how to effectively manage and prevent workplace conflict and improve workplace culture. She is amediator for the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman of the World Bank Group and a Mediator of the Global Mediation Panel at the Office of the Ombudsman for UN Funds and Programmes.

Experience

Tuba brings to her mediation practice a unique combination of litigation, transactional and in-house experience after working for over 10 years as the Head of Legal and Compliance of Indeks Group, the largest information technology distributor in Turkey. Her experience as an in-house counsel allows her to quickly grasp both business and legal aspects of complex commercial disputes as well as the employment and organizational matters. She is highly regarded for her ability to craft negotiated business solutions that help preserve relationships. As one of the mediation pioneers in Turkey, she actively contributed through various initiatives to the development of mediation awareness and the implementation of commercial and employment mediation.

She has been awarded the prestigious Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship in 2017 and has affiliations with many prominent international ADR institutions including Weinstein International Foundation, International Academy of Mediators, Southern California Mediators Association, and International Ombudsman Association.

Tuba is a graduate of Marmara University (LLB) and holds an LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution degree from the University of Southern California where she has undergone extensive training on mediation, cross-cultural dispute resolution, negotiation and arbitration.

She has also undergone extensive and advanced mediation, negotiation, facilitation, arbitration and conflict analysis training from various prestigious institutions including University of Southern California Gould School of Law Center for Dispute Resolution, Harvard Negotiation Institute (Harvard Law School), Pepperdine University Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, UC Hastings College of the Law (Center for Negotiation & Dispute Resolution), United States Institute of Peace, Center for Dispute Resolution, Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office and JAMS.
