Advanced Training in Workplace Mediation
The 20-hour Advanced Training Programme in Workplace Mediation by AKKED – Eleni Plessa and Eirini Matsouka, Attorneys-at-Law, Accredited Mediators, and Mediator Trainers created PROμηθεας. It takes into account the particularly significant social and legislative developments of recent years regarding the workplace and labor law, the complexity of relationships and interests, the steadily increasing number of conflicts in this sector, as well as the need to enhance the skills and experience of Accredited Mediators in Workplace Mediation.
This Advanced Training Programme is designed in accordance with Article 27B of Law 4640/2019 and fulfills the legal requirements for continuous education and professional development of Accredited Mediators.
Trainers
The Training Programme was created and is delivered by Eleni Plessa and Eirini Matsouka, drawing upon their 12 years of uninterrupted experience in the field of Mediation in Greece and internationally, as well as their 20 years of experience in the Legal Profession—with Eirini Matsouka specializing in labor law and insolvency law, and Eleni Plessa in commercial law and the business environment. In addition to their professional experience, both Trainers have been trained in Workplace Mediation as both Mediators and Mediator Trainers.
The objectives of the training programme are:
  • To provide, as a theoretical foundation, the opportunity to delve into Law 4640/2019 through practice, theory, and jurisprudence.
  • To present the current legislative framework governing workplace disputes and the potential options for referring them to Mediation.
  • To identify the specificities and root causes of workplace conflicts regarding both prevention and resolution.
  • To focus attention on recent legislative initiatives concerning flexible working arrangements, teleworking, sexual harassment in the workplace, moral harassment/mobbing, contract terminations, etc., connecting them with the eligibility (or non-eligibility) of relevant disputes for Mediation, based on international practice and Greek statutory provisions.
  • To provide all trainees with the opportunity to participate in simulations and various experiential exercises, receiving individualized feedback on their participation.
  • To enable Accredited Mediators to enrich their experience, enhance their skills, and advance professionally in their role as mediators.
Target Audience
The Training Programme is addressed to Accredited Mediators who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in Workplace Mediation while fulfilling their legal obligation for continuous professional development (Article 27B, Law 4640/2019).
