Antzela Botrou is an Accredited Mediator, an International Relations Specialist, and a final-year postgraduate student in the International Negotiations program at the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Studies

In 2019, she completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus, while also spending a semester at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom through the Erasmus+ exchange program. Since early 2023, following her accreditation as a Mediator, she has been part of the panel of Accredited Mediators at Resolve Mediators. In the same year, she began her Master’s degree in International Negotiations at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Throughout both her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Antzela has actively participated in numerous negotiation simulations and competitions.

Before joining Resolve Mediators, she completed two paid internships: first in the Visitors’ Experience Department at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (2018) and later at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the Directorate for Sub-Saharan Africa (2019).

Mediation

Antzela’s journey with Resolve Mediators began in February 2020, when she joined the team in an administrative support role, contributing to the coordination of most of the organization’s activities to this day. Since January 2023, when she became an Accredited Mediator and was included in the Official Registry of Mediators of the Ministry of Justice, she has been an active member of the Resolve Mediators’ team, undertaking Initial Mandatory Mediation Sessions and Mediations.

Since 2022, she has served continuously as a Mediation Session Supervisor at the International Mediation Competition of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). A highlight of her involvement was her appointment in February 2026 as Mediation Session Supervisor for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final rounds of the Competition. In July 2023, she assumed the same role at the IBA – VIAC Mediation & Negotiation Competition. In 2025, she served as a judge at the International Mediation Competition of INADR in Tbilisi (March), as well as at the International Teen Mediation Competition of Teen Mediation International (TMI) (September). Since 2025, she has also been a Member of the Mentor Panel of The Accord Initiative, contributing to a global network that advances dialogue-driven conflict resolution and promotes informed, voluntary, and people-centred dispute resolution frameworks beyond litigation, with an emphasis on preserving time, professional relationships, and long-term sustainability in conflict management.

Antzela has a strong interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution, particularly in the institution of Mediation and its development at the national, European, and international level. Her Master’s dissertation focuses on conflict resolution within closed social groups.
